Bendy and the Ink Machine is a first-person horror adventure set in a 1930s animation studio that has gone catastrophically wrong. You play Henry, an animator who returns to his old workplace after 30 years to find it flooded with black ink, overrun by cartoon creatures, and haunted by Bendy — the studio's ink-drenched mascot brought terrifyingly to life.

The game's genius is its aesthetic. Everything is styled like a depression-era cartoon but rendered in a dirty, decayed 3D world. Posters on walls. Desks covered in sketches. Machinery that still runs. The normalcy of the studio props clashing with the horror of what inhabits them creates a tension that jump-scare-heavy games can't match.

Chapter 1 sets the tone: you explore the studio, find Henry's old workspace, start a generator — and then Bendy appears. The encounter teaches you a core lesson: running is usually better than fighting. Bendy is a puzzle first and a horror game second.

Bendy's story unfolds through audio logs, written notes, and environmental storytelling. What happened to the studio? What did Joey Drew do to his staff? The mystery is compelling enough that players tear through all five chapters hungry for answers.

The ink physics are also remarkable — pools of ink slow you down, ink creatures patrol corridors, and the whole world slowly drips. It creates the sense that the studio itself is alive and hostile.

Tips:

• When Bendy appears, sprint immediately — don't stand and fight.
• Collect everything you find — items used later are rare and not respawnable.
• Audio logs tell most of the story — listen to every one you find.
• The bathroom stalls in Chapter 1 are hiding spots. Remember that for later.
