About OvO

OvO is a minimalist precision platformer built entirely around momentum. You play a small stick figure racing through stark black-and-white obstacle courses, and every move — running, sliding, jumping, diving, wall-jumping — feeds into one flowing system of speed. Master it and you move like water; fumble it and you faceplant into a spike two seconds in.

The core idea is that speed is something you build and spend. Sliding down a slope accelerates you; diving from a height converts a fall into forward launch; wall-jumps keep momentum alive across vertical gaps. Nothing is automatic. A clean OvO run looks effortless precisely because the player is constantly making tiny timing decisions — when to slide, when to dive, when to hold a jump.

OvO's levels start gently, teaching one mechanic at a time, then combine them into brutal gauntlets of moving platforms, crushers, and precise wall sequences. Each stage has a checkpoint at its start, so death is cheap and instant — you respawn in under a second and go again. That fast retry loop is why OvO is so replayable: a failed attempt costs nothing, so you keep pushing "one more try."

The game also has a serious speedrunning following. Because movement is momentum-based, the same level can be cleared slowly and safely or blazed through with dive-cancels and wall-boosts, and players compete for the cleanest, fastest lines. Bonus and gravity-flipped levels wait for anyone who finishes the main set and wants more punishment.

How to play OvO

Controls. Left / Right or A / D — move. Up, W or Space — jump. Down or S — slide on the ground, or dive when airborne. Wall-jump by pressing jump while pressed against a wall. Every advanced trick is just a combination of these four inputs.

Tips:

• Slide down slopes before a jump — the extra speed carries you across gaps a standing jump can't reach.
• Dive (Down while airborne) to snap to the floor fast and convert height into forward momentum.
• Wall-jumps preserve speed. Chain them up vertical shafts instead of stopping to line up each jump.
• Respawns are instant, so commit to risky lines — hesitation ends more runs than mistakes do.
