Bloxorz is a classic tile-based puzzle game with one of the most satisfying central mechanics in browser gaming: rolling a 1×2 block around suspended platforms to drop it, end-first, into a square hole. It sounds trivial and turns out to be a genuine brain-teaser, because the block occupies different footprints depending on whether it's standing upright or lying down — and the hole only accepts it standing perfectly on end.

That single rule generates surprising depth. Lying flat, the block covers two tiles; standing, it covers one. Narrow bridges only support the block when it's upright; certain tiles are fragile and collapse if the block stands on them with its full weight. Getting the block from the start to the goal means planning a sequence of rolls that keeps it on solid ground, over gaps, and arriving at the hole in exactly the right orientation. Overshoot a roll and the block tumbles off the edge, resetting the level.

Later stages add switches — heavy X switches that need the block's full standing weight, and lighter O switches triggered by any contact — which open bridges and toggle platforms. Some levels even split the block into two smaller cubes you control separately, multiplying the spatial reasoning required. It's the kind of puzzle where you'll stare at a layout, "see" the solution as a chain of rolls, and feel genuinely clever executing it.

How to play Bloxorz

Controls. Arrow keys roll the block in each direction. The block tips end-over-end, so plan each roll — it lies flat across two tiles or stands upright on one. Land it standing perfectly on the square hole to finish. Roll it off an edge and the level resets.

Tips:

• Think in orientations, not just directions — track whether the block will be standing or lying after each roll.
• The block must be standing upright to drop into the goal hole; plan your final rolls to arrive on end.
• Fragile (orange) tiles collapse under the block's full standing weight — cross them lying flat, never standing.
• Note the level password so you can resume later without replaying from level one.
