About Happy Wheels

Happy Wheels is a ragdoll physics obstacle course game that has been making people laugh and wince in equal measure since 2010. You pick a character — the reckless dad on a Segway, the irresponsible parent with a child passenger, the wheelchair-bound senior — and attempt to navigate grotesque obstacle courses filled with spikes, wrecking balls, and explosions.

The core mechanic is simple: get from start to finish in one piece. The reality is rarely that clean. Limbs detach. Characters are launched into spikes at speed. The physics engine calculates every collision with brutal fidelity, and a run that starts with cautious progress can end in a spectacular dismemberment two seconds later.

Happy Wheels has a level editor that lets players build and share their own courses, which is why the game has tens of thousands of community-made levels. The user levels range from carefully designed puzzles to deliberately sadistic gauntlets. The Segway Guy became an internet icon precisely because of the absurdity of navigating him through courses that were clearly designed by people who wanted to see him destroyed.

The browser version on UBGHyper includes the full character roster and access to featured levels. It runs in Ruffle, the Flash emulator, so it behaves identically to the original. Fullscreen mode is recommended — more field of view, better reaction time.

How to play Happy Wheels

Controls. Arrow keys — move / accelerate. Z — eject from vehicle. Ctrl — brake hard. Space — special action (varies by character). Shift — lean. Controls vary slightly between characters — check the in-game help for the full list.

Tips:

  • Lean back before big drops to keep your vehicle upright on landing.
  • Don't eject unless you have a clear path — most ejections make things worse, not better.
  • Momentum is your enemy on spike courses — approach slowly and use the brake.
  • Community levels marked "featured" are tested and fair. Random user levels vary wildly in quality.
