Cuphead is a run-and-gun platformer built around non-stop boss fights, hand-drawn 1930s cartoon animation, and a difficulty curve that doesn't apologise for itself. You play as Cuphead (or Mugman in co-op) battling a series of contracts for the Devil — every level is a multi-phase boss encounter that demands you read attack patterns, dodge projectiles, and deal damage precisely under pressure.

How to play Cuphead

Controls. Arrow keys — move. Z — shoot. X — jump. C — dash. V — lock position (shoot in any direction without moving). Enter — pause. Hold a direction while shooting to aim.

Tips:

• Learn the first two phases of every boss before worrying about the final phase — you'll never see the end if you're inconsistent early.
• Parry the pink objects to build your super meter — they appear in almost every fight.
• The spread shot deals massive close-range damage. On slow bosses, get in close.
• Dying costs nothing — each death teaches the next attempt. Embrace the retry loop.
