Bitlife is a text-based life simulator where every choice ripples through 90+ years of a virtual character's life. Born somewhere random — Tokyo, Lagos, Cleveland — you make decisions year by year. School or skip? Job or college? Marry or stay single? Crime or career? Each path leads to wildly different outcomes.
What makes Bitlife addictive is its absurd specificity. You're not picking "good" or "bad" choices; you're picking weird ones. Become a yacht thief at 19. Marry your high-school sweetheart's grandmother for the inheritance. Run a Ponzi scheme through your dental practice. The game has hundreds of micro-events that play out as you go — drug arrests, lottery wins, secret family revelations, accidental fame.
The achievement system pushes long-term planning. Need to die in space? Get astronaut training in your 20s. Want to be royalty? Marry into a monarchy and survive. The "100 ribbons" achievements track everything from Famous (10M+ followers) to Crazy (multiple murders).
Bitlife's text-only interface is part of why it works. There's no animation distracting you — just choices and consequences. Every decade of life takes 3-4 minutes of clicking. What's the goal of Bitlife?
There's no main goal. You're collecting achievement ribbons by living interesting lives — Famous, Wealthy, Royalty, Notorious, Centenarian, etc.
Are the events in Bitlife random?
Mostly yes. Random events fire based on your stats (looks, smarts, health, happiness) and your decisions. The randomness is what keeps lives interesting.
