Awesome Cars is the racing-meets-combat sibling of Awesome Tanks and Awesome Planes — top-down vehicular action where you weave through tracks at speed, shoot rival drivers, dodge mines, and upgrade your car between races with better engines, weapons, and armour. It's a deceptively deep racer that has quietly become one of the most-played games on UBGHyper.

The basic loop is fast and satisfying. Each track is a short, twisty circuit packed with hazards: oil slicks, ramps, narrow choke points, and rivals who actively shoot back. Win a race and you bank coins to spend in the garage on faster acceleration, better top speed, heavier armour, more dangerous primary weapons (machine gun, shotgun, plasma cannon), and limited-use specials like mines and rockets. Lose a race and you replay it with whatever you've already unlocked.

What makes Awesome Cars different from a pure racer is the combat economy. Pacing matters as much as speed. Going flat-out wins early laps but drains your armour against opponents' fire. Hanging back to pick off rivals saves armour but costs you position. The best runs balance both — burst ahead during the few seconds your enemies are reloading, drift around a corner to break their lock, and time your last lap so you cross the line just as the leader explodes behind you.

How to play Awesome Cars

Controls. Arrow keys or WASD — drive (up to accelerate, down to brake/reverse, left/right to steer). Spacebar or Left-click — fire your primary weapon. Z / X — drop a mine or fire a special (when equipped). R — restart the race.

Tips:

• Buy a speed upgrade before a weapon upgrade — your first race is mostly about not dying, and faster acceleration lets you avoid combat entirely on easy tracks.
• The machine gun beats the shotgun until you can afford a fully upgraded shotgun — closer-range weapons are stronger but only if you can keep pace with the target.
• Use the brake to drift around tight corners. Holding the gas all the way around scrubs more speed than a controlled drift.
• Mines are placement weapons, not panic weapons. Drop them on choke points the AI must drive through, not directly behind you when you're being chased.
• On championship-style tracks, conserve your specials for the final lap — the AI gets more aggressive when you're in first place.
